Meet Dr. Michael Piepgrass
DDS, MSC, DIP PERIO, FRCD(C)
Dr. Michael Piepgrass was born and raised in Alberta. After graduating from High School in Spruce Grove, he spent two years in Puerto Rico doing volunteer service work. The love of the Spanish language led him to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish at the University of Saskatchewan. After completing his undergraduate degree, he then enrolled in dentistry at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. After finishing dental school, Dr. Piepgrass elected to do more formal training at the University of Kentucky where he obtained a Master’s of Science degree and a Certificate in Periodontology. Before returning to Alberta, Dr. Piepgrass worked in private practice in Lexington and taught dental students part-time at the University.
As a Periodontist, Dr. Piepgrass is primarily focused on preventing and treating gum disease, grafting soft and hard tissues, and placing and maintaining dental implants. Dr. Piepgrass has received extensive training in sedation dentistry, allowing him to provide both IV and oral sedation for his patients.
Dr. Piepgrass and his wife are the parents of five children. As a family, they enjoy the many outdoor activities that Northern Alberta has to offer.
